Mark Walker is a native Houstonian and has been a member of Elim Church since 1969. Shortly after graduation from South Houston High School Mark became a Houston Firefighter; a few years later he met his wife, Blanche, also a graduate of South Houston High School. While being a firefighter, Mark served on Elim's board of Elders and volunteered in the youth ministry. In 1994 God opened the door for Mark to become our youth pastor. Read Full Bio >
Ron Nissen, Pastor Emeritus, is known for his practical, inspired preaching and teaching of the Word, and his love and concern for people. Ron was called to preach in 1978 and in 1982 became the senior pastor of Elim Church. After 31+ years, he stepped down as senior pastor and became Pastor Emeritus, a spiritual leader and mentor. In his new role, God is using him all over the country to preach the gospel and further the kingdom ministering at Elim and other churches.
Ron and Janet have three children, Stacy, Renee' and Stephanie and 10 grandchildren.
Arnulfo Rodriguez grew up in an environment of alcoholism, which consisted of verbal and physical abuse. Having an aggressive nature, he served three years in prison in which he encountered a personal relationship with Jesus Christ while serving his sentence. Today, Arnulfo is married to his wife, Gloria Rodriguez of 11 years and has been blessed with four children and ﬁve grandchildren. He currently serves at Elim Church as an Elder and Ordained Pastor of Crux’s Ministry.
Bobby Cervantes, Worship Pastor, is happily married to Linda; both have been serving faithfully for over 18 years in many areas of ministry. Both enjoy leading Elim Church into the presence of God each week. They faithfully seek the face of God each week to invite the Holy Spirit into each service with joyful and grateful hearts.
David Hatley, was born and raised in a Christian family in Houston, Texas. He began his relationship with Christ, and was baptized at a very young age. As he grew up he had many experiences that challenged his faith. David gained eight years of experience in ministry by volunteering with Elim’s own youth and young adult ministries. In 2010, David and his family became the Associate Pastors at a church plant in the suburbs of Houston. 2012 brought David and his family back to Elim where he and his wife felt called to become the youth pastors. In 2016, they felt the Lord calling them to begin the small groups ministry, E-Groups. This was followed by the opportunity to serve as the Executive Pastor, seeking God to make the best decisions for the vision God has for Elim Church. David and Sandra have been married for 21 years and have been blessed with 5 wonderful sons.
Cristina Wolbrecht, Children's Pastor, along with her husband Daniel are extending their arms and hearts to the children of our community. Their desire is to give children a strong foundation to build their faith on. Cristina and Daniel are committed to providing an exciting Christ-filled environment for the children to learn and grow. Cristina is a graduate of the Texas Bible Institute and Daniel a graduate of Christ for the Nations. They are both looking forward to incorporating their teaching and experience with children into the ministry. Cristina and Daniel have one daughter and one son.
Pastor Adan was raised in the Methodist Church, at age 12, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Sister Fernanda was raised in the Catholic Church, at age 17 she accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. Adan served in the Marines for four years. They married November 1967 and are blessed with five children. Together they gladly serve the Lord. Pastor Adan was ordained and anointed in March of 1980 by The Upper Room Ministries and Churches Fellowship. Sister Fernanda was licensed and ordained October 1997 by Pastor Barrera at Iglesia Del Redentor Church.
