Should I Be Baptized?

Here at Elim Church we do not believe that baptism is required for salvation,

rather it is the first step of faith for believers.  Baptism waters do not save

anyone, Jesus is the one who does that through the laying down of his life.

We believe that baptism is a picture of the work that the Lord had done in

your heart.

Baptism illustrates Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.

(1 Corinthians 15:3-4)  It shows, our new life as a follower of Christ.

(2 Corinthians 5:17)  Baptism does not make you a believer….it shows

that you already believe.

We follow Jesus’ example in baptism.  He was baptized (Mark 1:9), and commanded us to be baptized. (Matthew 28: 19-20)

At Elim Church, we baptize by immersion.  We follow the example set in Scripture, and use the meaning of baptize, which is to immerse or dip in water.

If you’re a believer, you should be baptized!  It doesn’t matter if you were saved 20 years ago or just last week…it’s time to take the next step in your walk with the Lord.

We baptize during our Sunday night services immediately following the message.  Just email one of our Pastors and let us know when you’d like to be baptized.  Someone will get in touch with you very soon.
